ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE DETAILS
The details of English Language Course at Oxford Education Academy provides students with information about concepts covered in each level.
The English Language Course is divided into three (3) main Categories. They are:

Beginning Level - For students with little or no experience in conversational English. It is also for "false beginners" who may not have learned English through a structured course.

Intermediate Level - This level is for those students that have some experience with spoken English but need more practice with a native English speaker.

Advanced Level - For students that are near fluent in English, this level provides an opportunity to focus on detailed aspects of the English language. Some common areas discussed are slang, idioms, and etc.

Each main group is then broken down into sub levels. For example, there is a Low Beginning Level, a Mid Beginning Level, and a High Beginning Level.
When students first arrive at OEA they are given a placement test that allows them to see and understand why they are at a particular level.



ENGLISH FOR PROFESSIONALS

The private program for professionals is specially designed to meet the needs of the professional who has a more limited schedule. This program offers you the opportunity to study English . It also allows you the flexibility of determining the dates on which your classes will begin and end. At OEA we are aware of your need as a professional to be familiar with terminology specific to your line of work. Therefore, we provide you with classes and materials, in addition to our regular English classes, which will help you concentrate on the specifics of your field of work. OEA’s Business Programme is designed to fit the needs of all professionals.
At OEA we believe it is important for you to gain knowledge about the business world. To accomplish this, we have arranged for you every thing. Regular English classes help you improve and advance in English grammar, conversation (speaking and understanding), and reading. Whether you are a beginning student or an advanced student, we will have you speaking, understanding, writing and reading English better that you could before you came to OEA, so that you can be successful in your encounters with other English-speaking associates and friends.

ABOUT OUR CLASSES FOR PROFESSIONALS

Private Classes are designed to meet the needs of those who wish to study alone with the instructor or who wish to receive instruction in their area of specialization, but cannot arrange their schedules to correspond to those of other students'. These programs are 1 week to 6 weeks in length and include daily intensive instruction etc..
Semi-Private Classes are designed to meet the needs of those who wish to receive instruction in their area of specialization but wish to take a more economical route. In this program two students at the same level of English, with the same interest In area of concentration, and whose schedules are the same study together with the instructor. These programs are also 1-6 weeks in length and include daily instruction etc.
We offer a Business Program for students of all levels of English. We can also design a program that fits your needs.



Computer Lab
At OEA, you will have access to our high speed computers and internet connections. You can e-mail your friends, browse the web and even draft a letter to send to your friends and family. There is no extra charge for access to the computers.
For those students who are not familiar with computers or working on the Internet, we offer courses for the beginner and advanced user. We feel that learning how to use computers is almost as important as learning English.

We offer:
Computers with many different software programs. Some of these include:
Netscape Navigator - An Internet browser that allows you to view the World Wide Web, send E-mail, subscribe to Newsgroups and much more. MS Explorer - an Internet browser that allows you to view the World Wide Web, send E-mail, subscribe to Newsgroups and much more. MS Word - The best word processor Microsoft has to offer. Not only can you type text, but also insert tables, graphics, pictures and more. MS Excel - A spreadsheet that can be used for simple mathematics to complex calculations. Adobe Photoshop - The best design and production tool for photographs, graphics and more. All these features are available in the Student Computer Lab.
At OEA, you will have access to computers to do assignments for your writing class. You will also have access to the Internet if you enroll in the General Intensive English program. You will be able to practise English on the Internet.

Introduction to Computers: Students learn basic computer and word processing skills.

Advanced Word Processing and Graphic Presentations: Students learn the advanced features of programs like WordPerfect, Word, Corel Presentations, Excel and Power Point to make reports, newsletters and graphic presentations.

Advanced Internet, Movie Making and Graphic Applications: Learn how to find and download application software on the net, design a homepage on the web, make a movie, scan documents and make advanced presentations.

OTHER COURSES

TOEFL: This class is recommended to those students who plan to take the TOEFL test in the near future. This is one month course that includes classroom instruction and test practice.

Oral Communication Skills: This class gives the student a chance to improve their conversation and speaking skills.

Public Speaking: Students will learn how to make presentations, learn the art of public speaking and debating. This course is useful for politics, law, business, engineering, medicine and other professions.
